Automotive Window Tinting

Automotive window tinting has several advantages. They are more effective in blocking out UV radiation than standard glass, offering better protection for your interiors. As a result, the vehicle’s carpeting, dashboard, upholstery – all of which can fade easily when exposed to long hours in the sun – remain in good condition for longer.

How does Window Tinting Work?

Window tinting is a process in which a thin laminated film is applied to the glass that changes the colour to a darker hue. Some use it to protect themselves and other passengers in the car from the harsh ultraviolet rays. Others use it to enhance privacy or reduce heat and sun glare, all of which helps you drive better with more attention on the road and less on the sun glare that makes focusing difficult. Many drivers use window film for aesthetic purposes to give their vehicles a cooler look or customized style as well. But the functionality of the thin window film gives you many reasons to consider the application if you have not done so yet.

UV Protection, Impact Resistant

High-quality, durable window tints/films can act as a shield in an accident by holding up glass, preventing it from shattering, or reducing impact considerably. If you tend to keep personal items in the car, darkened windows reduce visibility keeping them safe from prying eyes. However, it is not quite a DIY job, even if it looks simple enough to apply. Believe it or not, the process can take anywhere from one to five hours and cost you between $100 to $800. If it’s not done well, it can ruin the film and the glass.

Window Tinting FAQs

How Long Is The Window Tinting Process?

A window-tinting job can take up to 2.5-3 hours or longer. It will depend on the number of windows that require tinting, as well as the vehicle.

What Are The Bubbles That I See On My Windows After Installation?

We use moisture for installation that can linger between the film and the windows for approximately two to three weeks. If you are in an area with colder climates, they may stay for longer. Don’t push or try to get rid of them on your own, as this can create air pockets that do not disappear on their own.

What Do I Clean The Windows With?

It is recommended for you to wait a week after the film installation before cleaning. Any moisture that seeps through the edges can get under the film and create bubbles. For cleaning, you should never use a cloth or pad that is textured.

Where Does The Tint Go?

The tint will be installed on the inside of your vehicle windows. Sometimes prep work will be performed on the outside of the vehicle.

Will Window Tinting Obstruct My View?

Window film will not obstruct your view. In fact, it will enhance your view by reducing glare while maintaining transparency.

How Long Will The Window Film Last?

Most window tinting films will last 10 to 15 years. If you choose metalized or ceramic films, life expectancy will increase to 12 to 20 years.
